NEW! Native American Flutes

I play these wonderfully made instruments in concert and when recording. Handcrafted from bamboo by flute maker Ray Wood of Island Flutes, these are Native American style flutes with a beautifully haunting, warm and rich tone.

The "starter" flute that I offer here is the one that my workshop classes are using. It's in the key of F#, great for playing with mountain dulcimer and other instruments. Created in the Cherokee style, these six-hole flutes have a bore size of 1/2" and a high tone. Also available in the key of E. $35.00

The next step up is a Cherokee style bamboo six-hole flute with a 5/8" bore and a mid-range tone. I have these in the keys of D and C. $45.00

I also have Cherokee style bamboo six-hole flutes with a 3/4" bore and a mid-range tone. I have these in the key of A, also a great key for playing along with the mountain dulcimer. Also available in the keys of Bb and G. $55.00

Bing Futch - "70mm" (1994)

Described as "an electronic theater-hopping experience", this early release by Bing is a freewheeling excursion through a sonic landscape of moods, memories and magic. Mainly featuring keyboards, the CD is a partial showcase for five tracks which were written for the soundtrack of a children's attraction called The Castle Of Miracles at Give Kids The World Village in Kissimmee, Florida. "Four Faerie Tales" is a four-part 16th century suite of Renaissance music while "How To Build A Castle" is a shape-shifting overture that plays like the final moments of a major motion picture. The rest of the album is a progressively entertaining blend of heavy rhythmic synth-pop and new-age textures woven together in unusual arrangements. Featured on the NPR program "Echoes" and with cover art by former Disney animator Greg Chin. Also available at Apple iTunes and CD Baby. $13.99
