"The first dulcimer festival I ever attended was Kentucky Music Week in June of 2006. I took four workshops over the course of five days and one of them was Stephen Seifert's chromatic dulcimer class. It was as challenging as Uni (look it up) but I was convinced that it was a direction in which I wanted to continue after the week was over. Stephen gave out loaners for the workshop and you had the option of buying one of the cardboard dulcimers at the end of the course, which I did. I figured it would more than hold me over until I was ready to spring out some moola for the real deal."
