"I began my dulcimer career working for Bud and Donna Ford out at Knott's Berry Farm theme park in Buena Park, California. The first mountain dulcimer that I ever bought was a less expensive version of this one, which Jae got me for Christmas 2008.

Serial number is 14 442 with the initals 'BC' written on the inside Cripple Creek badge. Jae says the person she got it from said that it was from the 1970's, which seems just about right. The instrument is in beautiful shape, with what appears to be a veneer wood. I'll have to ask Bud III if he can research this a little bit.

The sound is really quite good and I spent a great deal of time on Christmas morning playing the latest member of my dulcimer family. Since she was unwrapped on Christmas morning, I call her 'Dawn.'"
