"After going over some specs with Mike on his MC-2 standard mountain dulcimer, he created 'Helen' out of walnut and flame cherry, giving her a total of five tuning pegs for each side and setting up the nut and bridge on the farthest fretboard to accomodate a big ol' bass string. He also installed a switch to go back and forth between the two pickups to eliminate sympathetic string vibrations.

She's a handful, with a big, powerful voice, a true amplified sound and my first foray into the world of 1+ and 8+ frets.
