"This mountain dulcimer was given to me by legendary singer/songwriter John David Baldridge, one of two that he traded me after realizing that the KeyChord guitar he had just given me was a collector's item. I got the better end of the deal.

Can't tell much about this dulcimer except that it came from a shop or store on 13th St. in Denver, Colorado and somehow made its way to Golden by way of Apple Seed John's General Store, according to the inside label and red and gold sticker on the back.

Appears to be plywood - with no 6+ fret and a movable bridge. The plywood is splintering at the bottom and sides, which sports a 'Kentucky Lip'. Looks and sounds sort of like Richard Fariña's dulcimer, hence the name.

Nice old-timey sound - bears some resemblance to a Jethro Amburgey."
