"Kokopelli Rising"

The new album from Bing Futch takes you on a tribal trip of rhythm, melody and harmony. Featuring all original tunes (one traditional) and an eclectic mixture of instruments, "Kokopelli Rising" is a spiritual journey that intertwines traditional vocals with Native American Flute, Appalachian mountain dulcimer, strings, horns and percussion from seven different countries. It's a melding of the old culture with modern ways showcased over the course of an hour through ten free-flowing tracks.

Phoenix - Mountain dulcimer and Native American Flute are backed by drums, bass and keyboards in this sweetly flowing track.

Kokopelli Rising - Apache ceremonial drums, Native American Flute, chanting and other-worldly synthesizers combine to create a spooky birth legend for Kokopelli.

I Will Move On - An acapella original done in a bluesy, work chant style.

Medicine Dance - Solo Native American Flute and drum anchor this meditative piece.

Let The Sun Not Set - Various percussion and Native American Flute illustrate the proverb "do not let the sun set on your anger."

Kuuyi Dancers - Kuuyi means "water" in the Hopi language; the dancers on Native American Flute here are David Beede and Bing Futch, recorded live at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park.

Tale Of The Trickster - Solo Native American Flute in an interpretation of the Kokopelli legend.

Sunday At Little Beach - Mountain dulcimer piece "Raga 111806" gets a pumped-up remix featuring additional elements by Stu Wilson, recorded in Japan.

Tears of Kokopelmana - The story of Kokopelli's mate, Kokopelmana, and her plan to win the hand of the trickster God by her own form of trickery. Mountain dulcimer, Native American Flute, African, Vietnamese and Latin percussion, richly textured keyboards and multi-part harmonies swirl in this track.

I Am A Poor Wayfaring Stranger - The traditional spiritual gets a new cinematic treatment with the Native American Flute, mountain dulcimer, an emotional vocal environment and an epic, orchestral finale.
